Visual Lines of Force in Chess
   June 5, 2005

I'm always prowling the Internet for interesting chess web sites. Recently I came across an interesting chess site with a different twist. It includes a chess engine and plays chess with you - although not at an extremely high level. But it shows you what it is thinking via colorful lines of force emminating from the pieces as they are reviewed by the chess computer.

I'd suggest you go play a game and see what you think about it, I did and the results are included below. Any player above Class C will easily understand what the computer program did wrong, thre's no need for me to annotate. But that's not the point. The point is the visual thinking display and how it shows the move selection process. It's interesting and imaginative and even artistic. The authors deserve credit for adding a new dimension. I'm sure others will follow.
